She recently won the 2026 CYA published illustrator competition, and her debut book was shortlisted for the 2025 Psychological Society Children's Peace Literature Award.

Annabelle Hale is an author/illustrator based in Naarm/Melbourne. She loves creating fun characters and using bright colours to make people smile. Christie is an Australian illustrator and surface pattern designer from the Dandenong Ranges, Victoria. She specialises in drawing nature inspired designs featuring Australian flora and fauna, but also loves to draw magical worlds and cakes.

One add-on illustration exhibition ticket gets your artwork into all 3 exhibitions. More detail here;
The publisher exhibition will showcase one of your illustrations. Each year, publishers & creatives browse the artwork during the Publisher Cocktail Party and meet the illustrators in attendance.
The on-line exhibition will showcase two of your illustrations (examples below). The gallery link and images are sent to 30 publishers and agents globally - all seeking emerging illustration talent.
The Anglesea Artspace exhibition will exhibit one framed illustration of any size and sell your artwork on your behalf. The festival offers a quality print + frame service for out-of-towners. Your artwork will be printed professionally on Bauhaus True Rag Etching textured art paper & framed in oak timber with UV acrylic glass. Details are in the illustration guideline document. Bring friends and family to the opening party with refreshements provided.

Many of you may be exhibiting artwork for the first time - this festival team is here to help. Enter as many artworks as you like - please ensure you purchase another entry ticket.

IMPORTANT: Exhibitors must adhere to the 23 AUGUST closing date and submission specifications in the ‘Illustration Guidelines’ below.
